Nordic Network for Health Management Research - NOHR

In 2005, a group of Nordic health management researchers joined forces in establishing a Nordic network. Recently, this network has been formalized as NOHR - the Nordic Network for Health Management Research. The network recognizes the need for a common Nordic arena for health management researchers, not least in light of the increasing importance of health to national and international politics, the many recent policy initiatives and reforms changing the outline of the Nordic healthcare services, and recent developments in theoretical and analytical approaches. There is a need for establishing a more developed knowledge base on health care management and organization.

Nordic Network for Healthcare Management Research (NOHR)

Why a Nordic network for research on the organization and management of helathcare?

  • Healthcare has become increasingly important in national and international politics, equally so in welfare state ”modelling”
  • Recently, there has been an active period of reform and change; this activity has reinvigorated the theoretical and analytical approaches made by researchers - more perspectives and methods are used
  • There is a need for exchange of research results and findings, as well as exchange of theoretical perspectives - learning from each others ’ experiences seems important

What are the purposes of such a network?

  • To arrange annual meetings for researchers and students that take an interest in Nordic health management and organization
  • To exchange information, and make research available through NOHRnet.org
  • To develop comparative research and encourage cross-disciplinary work

We invite you all to participate in the further development of the network!
